What Is Western Municipal Water District?

Western Municipal Water District is a public agency that was formed under the Municipal Water District Act of 1911 in order to provide supplemental imported water to the communities of western Riverside County. For more detailed information on the District, please peruse our History & Background page or our District Fact Sheet. Will there still be an office in Murrieta? Yes. The Murrieta office at 42290 Ivy Street will remain open as a satellite office to handle water system operations, maintenance and water emergency activities. Western's offices in Riverside will provide operational, administrative, billing and financial support to the Murrieta office. Does my water bill now get mailed to Western? We have a billing post office box located in Artesia. However, you are welcome to drop off your payment at the Murrieta Division office at 42290 Ivy Street. In addition, you can now pay in person at Western's Riverside offices, 450 E. Alessandro Boulevard. Both the Murrieta and Riverside offices have drop boxes for after-hours payments. You can also pay your bill each month via credit card charge. Who do I call if I want to report a leak or other water emergency? You will continue to use the same 24 hour emergency number: 951.677.7667. What if I have a water quality question? MCWD offered water conservation rebates. Does Western offer the same program?
