What Is Western Electricity Coordinating Council?
WECC's mission is to coordinate and promote electric system reliability. In addition to promoting a reliable electric power system in the Western Interconnection, WECC works to support efficient competitive power markets, assure open and non-discriminatory transmission access, provide a forum for resolving transmission access disputes, and provide an environment for coordinating the operating and planning activities of its 180 members.
