What Is Wealden District Council?

Hidden away in between the M25 and the English Channel, stretching from the Ashdown Forest to the South Downs, the Wealden District is one of the South East's best kept secrets and home to 156,000 people. Wealden enjoys some of the most unspoilt countryside in South East: the Ashdown Forest, the High Weald, parts of the South Downs, the Seven Sister cliffs and Pevensey Levels. We have over 300 square miles of countryside, two thirds of it an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of the largest reserves of ancient woodland in the country. You can enjoy an enviable quality of life in its five market towns of Crowborough, Uckfield, Heathfield, Hailsham and Polegate, or many rural villages, but still stay close to larger centres like Brighton, Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells and are within easy access of London. Wealden is a place where people want to live, work, do business and spend their leisure time. As an employer we recognise the value and experience that our team bring to our diverse range of services and in return we offer rewarding and stimulating opportunities for development in a dynamic working environment.
