The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research is Australia's oldest medical research institute, and celebrated its centenary in 2015. Our researchers are working to understand, prevent and treat diseases including cancer — particularly blood, breast, lung, ovarian and bowel cancers — type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, coeliac disease, HIV, tuberculosis and malaria.
