The Village of Libertyville is located in Lake County, IL and approximately 35 miles north of Chicago and 7 miles west of Lake Michigan. The Village is a non-home rule municipality governed by a President and board of 6 trustees. It employs 157 full-time employees and provides the following services: Administration, Community Development, Engineering, Public Works, Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Water, Sewer and Wastewater Treatment The mission of the Village of Libertyville municipal organization is to provide quality services, programs and facilities in the most cost effective and efficient manner to all citizens of the community, to preserve Village history and tradition, to preserve resources for future generations, and to facilitate a partnership with all members of the community to make Libertyville a better place to live and work.
