For over 30 years VIA Architecture has focused on creating sustainable communities through architecture, infrastructure design and urban planning. Founded in 1984 in Vancouver, BC VIA expanded to the U.S. in Seattle in 2001 and opened a third office in the Bay Area (now in Oakland) in 2014. Our three offices work collaboratively to share ideas and support across all aspects of our operations – from design delivery to thought research - and currently employ more than 60 architecture, planning, design and business professionals. \n\nBy working from the fundamentals outwards, VIA has successfully delivered many complex and innovative projects. Our approach brings imagination and discipline together into the process of city-shaping and community-building, at both the small and large scale, for a roughly equal mixture of private and public clients.\n\nTo the VIA team, good design solutions respond both to the physical context and to the economic environment of that moment. We work hard with our stakeholders to plan and accommodate for a shifting market place. This nuanced perspective helps clients achieve flexible, reality-based development concepts that improve the lives of individuals and communities.
