The Barger Leadership Institute (BLI) is The University of Michigan's School of Literature, Science and The Art's premier leadership organization. We offer students a diverse array of opportunities to learn valuable leadership skills in an experiential, fast-paced setting. All undergraduate students interested in joining the BLI begin the journey by enrolling in ALA 170: The Leadership Lab. The Leadership Lab is a 5-week immersive course where students create innovative projects in a collaborative setting. Those who complete the course become BLI Fellows. \n\nBLI Fellows have access to a variety of funding and networking opportunities. Grant programs ranging from $200 to $10,000 seed innovative projects with the funds needed to make a profound impact in the community. Whether it be at home in Ann Arbor, in a major US city or in an international location, BLI fellows are exposed to community leaders from all walks of life. The Mindful Leader Program is a six-month contemplative leadership practices program where Fellows develop habits of mindful leadership through experiential learning opportunities. There are a host of other skill-development, networking or social activities available to BLI Fellows, as well as paid working opportunities for students to directly contribute to the programs of the Barger Leadership Institute.\n\nInterested in becoming a BLI Fellow?
