What Is UNI-FLY?

UNI-FLY is a Helicopter Operator specializing in Offshore Windfarm Hoist Operations with a proven track record since 2002.\n\nWe believe in being an active partner for our customers doing our utmost to assist in developing new lines of business or fulfill any given need.\nBased on our experience we continuously develop new procedures and technologies to service offshore wind farms. \n\nUni-Fly was founded in 1970 by Bjarne Stuhr Petersen.\nToday the company is a thriving business, employing a strong, technical and operational team with great competences within helicopter operation as well as helicopter and fixed wing maintenance and operation.\n\nIn the early years, the company’s main business area was crop dusting by helicopter, but in 1976 the company reacted to demand from shipping companies sailing in Arctic waters to Greenland, who needed helicopter assistance for Ice reconnaissance flights. Later on, the Greenland operation expanded into servicing geologists and scientists in Greenland.\nMeanwhile, in Denmark, the company went into the business of power-line inspection and later on inspection of oil-, and gas pipe-lines. \nThese inspection flights are still a major activity for Uni-Fly.\nOver the last five decades, Uni-Fly has taken part in several various projects, i.e. development of equipment and procedures for TV-, and Tele-antenna Inspection in cooperation with The Danish National Telecom Agency and equipment for Ground Water Resource Exploration under the University of Aarhus. \n\n*** MILESTONES ***\n*** Since 2002 Uni-Fly has performed more than 48,000 successful hoist operations to offshore wind turbines in Denmark for Vattenfall (former ELSAM) using an EC 135 based in Esbjerg.\n\n*** Emergency evacuation from off shore wind turbine has been developed enabling us to perform safe stretcher evacuations from both the nacelle and the boat access platform of offshore wind turbines.
