What Is The White Rose Academies Trust?

Thank you for taking an interest in the White Rose Academies Trust. As our name implies the Trust is very local to the city of Leeds, currently comprising three academies which occupy sites in the centre, east and west of the city. We are sponsored by Leeds City College, one of the largest further education providers in the country which encompasses Leeds College of Music within its organisation. The Trust's academies share the same fundamental commitment which is to continuously improve educational outcomes for our students. We believe that education is the key to transforming life chances, and that by creating an outstanding learning environment where all our students are happy and taught well we will enhance their prospects to become productive, successful citizens of the future. To achieve that goal of an outstanding learning environment, we insist on getting the basics right day in day out. These core standards include: high expectations of everyone in our learning community; good discipline consistently applied; reliably good quality teaching; a commitment from parents to work in partnership with the academy; and respectful, positive relationships between everyone in our learning community. We value individuality within this framework of agreed core standards therefore WRAT academies are not clones of one another. Rather we share that set of core standards and tailor our offer in each academy to that particular community. Each Local Accountability Board within WRAT sets its own vision for its academy, framed within the over-arching vision for the Trust set by the Board of Directors but nonetheless specific to that setting. At White Rose Academies we believe we have a unique offer to parents and families considering our academies as a secondary education destination for their children, and to staff who are considering working for us.
