What Is The Smallpeice Trust?

Founded in 1966, The Smallpeice Trust is a national educational charity which encourages 10-18 year olds from all backgrounds to take up careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). We run STEM Days, provide Think Kits for after-school clubs and 3 day residential courses at Universities. \n\nThe Smallpeice Trust supports students’ technical abilities and develops their problem-solving, leadership, communication and team-working life skills. Course subjects include Automotive Engineering, Aviation Technology, Biochemical Engineering, Cyber Security, Games Development, Humanitarian Engineering, Girls into Engineering, Marine Technology and Girls into Physics.\n\nLast year over 50,000 students attended our STEM Days, clubs and courses. 50% were female and 1 in 2 attended free of charge through sponsorship.\n\nOur partners include a wide range of companies, institutions and universities including universities of Warwick, Cambridge. Royal Holloway, Stirling, and Queens University in Belfast. Companies who generously sponsor students and programs include Babcock, BAE Systems, Leonardo, Lubrizol, MTC, National Grid and the RAF. \n\nDuring the courses, employees from top companies and university specialists provide practical workshops, masterclasses, career presentations and lab/university tours. Our Education Officers facilitate the event and run a fully supervised social programme after dinner including sports and movies.\n\nCompanies benefit from showcasing future careers to our enthusiastic students. They are able to influence the course content and give leadership opportunities to their graduates and apprentices who lead projects on our courses. Supporting The Smallpeice Trust provides opportunities for company volunteering, corporate social responsibility, marketing & media which we can support.\nContact us at coursesupporter@smallpeicetrust.org.uk to learn more!
