The Community Development Trust Revenue and Competitors

The Community Development Trust (CDT) is a national investor in affordable housing and select charter schools. Working with local, regional, and national partners, CDT makes long-term equity investments and originates and acquires long-term mortgages. Our particular focus involves investing equity capital in Year 15 LIHTC communities as well as other affordable housing communities, making long-term permanent loans on 4% and 9% LIHTC projects, purchasing seasoned loans and bonds on LIHTC projects, and providing long-term financing to experienced charter schools and charter school developers. Since 1999, CDT has invested over $1.2 billion in debt and equity capital to properties in 43 states and regions – helping to preserve and create over 42,000 units of affordable housing. CDT is a private real estate investment trust (REIT) and a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
