Teen Success, Inc. believes that every teen mother can be and deserves the opportunity to be successful. Every day we empower and inspire teen mothers to reach their potential because if we don't, their chances of breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children are greatly diminished. Teen Success, Inc. provides programming to help teen mothers to complete high school, develop strong parenting skills to nurture their child's positive development, and to develop the life skills necessary to thrive. Roughly one in four girls in the U.S. will be pregnant at least once before age 20. Teen pregnancy and parenthood are closely associated with a host of social and economic issues that affect teen parents, their children and society. -Only 38% of teen mothers ever finish high school and less than 2% finish college by age 30. -Teenage mothers are more likely to live in poverty, depend on public assistance, and be in poor health. -Children born to teen mothers are more likely to suffer health and cognitive disadvantages, come in contact with the child welfare and correctional systems, live in poverty, drop out of high school and become teen parents themselves.
