TajRupt Revenue and Competitors

TajRupt is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization with a mission of empowering the youth to lead change in Tajikistan. We focus on two areas of work: critical thinking curriculum, and artificial intelligence. At our Extracurricular Resource Center (ERC) in Khujand, we transform local high school and university students into informed and engaged citizens through an evidence-based after-school curriculum. Employing an active learning methodology, the curriculum incorporates 30 classes that span across 10 weeks and are followed by social impact projects implemented by the students. During the curriculum period, the students learn a wide array of concepts that are essential for global citizenship - public policy, markets, media, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), gender empowerment, and leadership. In the summer of 2019, we will be launching the second arm of our organization - TajRupt.AI. The first artificial intelligence research center in Central Asia, TajRupt.AI will educate local students with a passion and talent in STEM fields through an after-school curriculum focused on machine learning and data science. Our long-term vision is centered around pioneering a tech industry in Tajikistan through entrepreneurship and shaping the country as the AI hub of Central Asia. Impact assessment surveys have demonstrated that 9 in 10 ERC graduates experience a change in their viewpoint after curriculum completion, while 100% would recommend enrollment at TajRupt to a friend. Provision of free services has brought students a value-added equivalent to 15% of average monthly wage in the country. Our funders have included the IsDB's Science, Technology & Innovation Fund, the National Endowment for Democracy, and the European Endowment for Democracy.
