What Is Symphony Asia?

We provide opportunities for investors to gain exposure to Asia's rapidly expanding markets, primarily those in South and South East Asia. We do this by selectively partnering with entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial management teams of high potential businesses which benefit from the rising disposable incomes of the region's rapidly growing and increasingly aspirational population. Our long history in Asia has given us access to an extensive network of individuals and companies that enables us to generate proprietary deal flow, and also help our partners grow their businesses. Today, we manage Symphony International Holdings Limited (LON: SIHL), a permanent capital investment vehicle listed on the London Stock Exchange. Historically, our investments have been mainly in the Healthcare, Hospitality, and Lifestyle sectors, and in luxury branded real estate developments. We typically invest in transactions that involve growth capital for later-stage development and expansion, management buy-outs and buy-ins, restructurings, and special situations. More recently, we have been seeing experienced executives leave successful corporate careers to start new ventures, and where we see a special opportunity, we may invest in such earlier-stage businesses as well. Our story began in 1981, when we set out looking to provide equity capital to the many new businesses that were being formed in Asia at that time. It was the start of a journey that took us from Hong Kong to Singapore in 1997, and to the founding of Symphony Asia Holdings Pte. Ltd. in 2005. Along the way we pioneered a few "firsts" like the first ever IPO of an Asian company in the United States, and partnered with many outstanding entrepreneurs, some of whom grew their businesses to become global market leaders. Disclaimer: Symphony Asia Pte. Ltd. is not linked to Symphony Financial Partners in any way.
