Suffolk Age UK is a local, independent charity working with and for the benefit of older people in Suffolk. Services provided include befriending, day centres, dementia groups, independence advice, benefits advice and information service, and much more. Every year, it costs around £3m to fund Suffolk Age UK and our services for older people. Currently only around 25% of income comes from statutory sources - the remaining 75% has to be generated locally and is all spent within Suffolk. We work actively within local communities to promote the needs of older people and during 2016/17, we are asking older people to share their stories, linking into our campaign "There's More To Me" - http://www.ageuk.org.uk/suffolk/theresmoretome/ which is about recognising, supporting and valuing older people in our communities. We have a multi-disciplinary team who are supported by over 600 volunteers. If you are working for a Suffolk-based business who would be interested in supporting their local community and developing their CSR involvement, we'd love to speak to you.
