Our Mission Social Venture Partners Connecticut (SVP-CT) is an engaged community of Partners leveraging time, expertise, and resources for sustainable solutions to social problems, while becoming more strategic and effective in our personal giving. Overview SVP is a venture philanthropy organization, based in Westport, CT, with a dual mission of achieving social impact and educating our Partners in nonprofits and philanthropy. Our social impact focus is to close the opportunity gap in Connecticut by supporting innovative organizations in education and workforce development. SVP maintains funds at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation and Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and enjoys strong collaborative relationships with the staff and board of these organizations. SVP Partners are successful professionals drawn from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Partners pool their annual financial contributions and leverage their time, expertise, and resources to make strategic multi-year investments in sustainable solutions to closing the opportunity gap in Connecticut. We also engage in cross-sector partnerships to achieve systems change in education and workforce development. SVP Connecticut is an affiliate of the SVP Network which links 3,500+ individual donors who, since 1997, have collectively contributed more than $55 million and thousands of volunteer hours to 700+ vetted nonprofit organizations that are creating social change in their respective regions.
