To tap the resources of our desert lake bed, over 200 wells have been drilled to varying depths. The extracted brine then travels to one of three processing plants via some 900 miles of pipeline. Once the minerals are removed, the brine is then returned to the valley floor, where it is injected back through the salt layers, allowing it to recapture vital minerals. Eventually it finds its way back to our wells and the process of solution mining begins again. Through this process of continual renewal the sensitive water table remains unpolluted.
