What Is SPYDER?
Cutting, scraping, sawing and grouting is hard work. That’s why we make Spyder Tools. With our rugged durability and truly innovative, award-winning designs, we give contractors and weekend warriors the power to conquer tough demolition and construction jobs with unmatched precision and efficiency. Our first big breakthrough came in 2007, when foundry worker and do-it-yourselfer Justin Kuhn became fed up with scraping material by hand. Vowing to use his brains as well as his brawn, he fashioned a scraper blade to fit a reciprocating saw. The result was so efficient, Justin felt like he suddenly had eight arms to do the work. So he named his invention the Spyder Scraper® and an innovative new tool company was born. The world quickly sat up and took notice. The Spyder Scraper was an instant success, winning the New Product of the Year award at the 2008 National Hardware Show and getting recognized as a “Top Pick” by home improvement expert Danny Lipford at the 2009 International Builders’ Show. Everyone wanted to get their hands on this ingenious new tool attachment. In 2008, Dr. Joseph and Mrs. Judy Roetheli purchased the company. These two entrepreneurs recognized an opportunity – similar to their other successful ventures – to bring real innovation to a stagnant marketplace. After rolling Spyder Scraper blades out across North America, Spyder introduced a full line of innovative, professional-grade saw attachments, including Spyder Grout-OutTM, Spyder Bore-BladeTM and Spyder Jig Saw Blades. Today, more than ever, Spyder is driven by innovation. Everything we make provides a significant improvement over the old way of doing things. From the perfect alignment of saw teeth to the strikingly simple design of a blade that produces less friction, our uniquely engineered tools offer professionals and DIYers real advantages that save time, effort and money. For quality, efficiency and innovation, the choice is clearly Spyder.
