What Is SMU Law Review Association?

The SMU Law Review Association is responsible for publishing the SMU Law Review, Journal of Air Law & Commerce, SMU Annual Texas Survey, and SMU Law Review Forum. All editing is done by student members of the SMU Law Review Association. Published quarterly, the SMU Law Review is a general-interest law journal and the flagship journal at SMU Dedman School of law. Each issue includes articles by prominent legal scholars and practitioners dealing with significant questions of local, national, and international law. In addition, articles by students analyze recent cases, statutes, and developments in the law. The Journal of Air Law and Commerce (JALC) is the oldest scholarly periodical in the English language devoted primarily to the legal and economic problems affecting aviation and space. Published quarterly, JALC's content encompasses domestic and international problems of the airline industry, private aviation, and space, as well as general legal topics that have a significant impact on the area of aviation. Since 1967, the Annual Survey of Texas Law has been published by the SMU Law Review. Each year, the Survey publishes articles concerning a concise presentation of the present state of Texas law. Established in 2019, the SMU Law Review Forum is an online, general-interest journal edited by the SMU Law Review Association. The Forum specializes in short-form, timely articles that are reviewed and published on an accelerated schedule, and acts as a counterpart to the SMU Law Review and JALC.
