What Is Redding Electric Utility?
Before mentioning some of the key areas of this website, let me take a moment to say that REU has been providing safe, reliable energy to our community since 1921. REU is locally-owned by our community and locally-controlled by the Redding City Council. Local control and essential relationships with other electric utility organizations has enabled REU to provide some of the lowest, most competitive rates to more than 86,000 residential and business customers. We believe in community involvement, so we take great pride in participating in local events such as Redding's Annual City Services and Energy Fair, Viva Downtown's Christmas Parade, Market Fest, Ducky Derby, and other wonderful City events.
