What Is Port Authority of New South Wales?

Port Authority of New South Wales is a State Owned Corporation. The Authority manages the navigation, security and operational safety needs for commercial shipping operating in the major New South Wales ports of Sydney Harbour, Port Botany, Newcastle and Port Kembla and smaller ports of Yamba and Eden. Services provided by the Authority include: -\tHarbour Master -\tPilot -\tSurvey -\tNavigation -\tSafety & security\t -\tVessel traffic management -\tEmergency response and clean up -\tEnvironment protection -\tManagement of dangerous goods regulations The Authority also operates Sydney's two international cruise terminals (Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay and White Bay Cruise Terminal, west of the Harbour Bridge at Balmain) and hosts the city's only dry bulk import facilities, located at Glebe Island. Sydney is Australia's, and indeed one of the world's premier cruise destinations. To ensure cruise passengers enjoy the best possible experience and maintain our reputation as a world-class cruise destination, we are investing substantially in our facilities. In April 2013 we opened the brand new cruise terminal at White Bay, a second dedicated cruise facility for Sydney and winner of major design awards both locally and overseas. Now we are upgrading the iconic Overseas Passenger Terminal to ensure it, too, meets the evolving demands of the booming and rapidly developing cruise industry.
