What Is Pikes Peak Library District?

The Pikes Peak Library District's Community Breast Cancer Resource Center provides user-friendly, comprehensive educational and informational resources on the topic of breast cancer to patrons of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and educational levels. The Center has been developed in partnerships with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Colorado Springs Affiliate and numerous community collaborators. The Center offers: A collection of books, pamphlets, periodicals, and videos on the topic of breast cancer, which are kept current with new information as it becomes available. Internet stations that offer information in English and Spanish, including directories of local resources and referral services and other online resources identified and prioritized by staff. A telephone station that has access to specified local and national resources for person-to-person communications and resource inquiries. Speakers, workshops, and support meetings for the community, as well as trained staff available to assist visitors with the Resource Center. Community Partners: ANGEL Network, Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, JUNTAS Latina Breast Health Outreach Program, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Colorado Springs Affiliate.
