What Is Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences?
The College of Agricultural Sciences has 17 undergraduate majors and awards nearly $2 million in scholarships annually. Undergraduate students can also choose from 23 minors and four two-year programs. Our graduate programs are offered in 18 major areas within the college, and our faculty participate in 10 inter-college programs and seven dual-title degree options. The first of the colleges established at Penn State University, the College of Agricultural Sciences awarded the nation's first baccalaureate degrees in agriculture in 1861. With nine academic departments and 67 cooperative extension offices, one in each of Pennsylvania's counties, the college is widely recognized as one of the nation's premier institutions for agricultural research and education programs.
