What Is PRO-telligent?

When PRO-telligent, LLC was formed in January of 2000, Ms. Judy Sebastian, Mr. Robert Cordes, and Mr. Ken Loff had a business plan, but no actual business, employees, or office space. They set out to build a new kind of professional services company. One that challenges how service companies operate, one that breaks away from traditional industry wisdom and places the client at the heart of the company. Advanced Power Technologies, Inc. (APTI) offered to invest in PRO-telligent and supply one office for our use. With this support, we immediately initiated a marketing effort and gradually established ourselves as a "preferred" contractor at the Department of State (DoS). Through the excellent level of service provided by our employees, we continued growing and helping our customers in multiple Bureaus and Offices at the DoS. Our success at DoS gave us the opportunity to expand our customer base. Recently PRO-telligent has been successful in its efforts to obtain contracts with the National Guard, Department of Justice, Department of the Navy, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), helping our customers to defeat threats to our National Security in the Information Age. In March of 2003, APTI was sold to BAE Systems, a British owned company. This foreign ownership adversely affected our business operations at the DoS, promoting an early execution of the buy-out that was originally included in PRO-telligent's business plan. On December 5, 2003, the corporate management of PRO-telligent completed a leveraged buy-out of the corporate investor, BAE Systems. PRO-telligent qualifies as a privately held, American, woman-owned small business. We have come a long way from our modest beginnings, growing rapidly from 3 to fielding over 500 IT professionals, engineers, and intelligence analysts.
