What Is PBR HAWAII and Associates?

PBR HAWAII & Associates, Inc., based in Hawaiʻi for 50 years, is a multi-disciplinary firm with a staff of 40 dedicated individuals, most of who are accredited by professional organizations in their respective fields. PBR HAWAII has 11 LEED® Accredited Professionals, 10 licensed landscape architects, 1 architect, and 4 certified planners (AICP) on its staff. Based on the diverse background of the staff, PBR HAWAII has the capabilities to provide consulting services in five main disciplines: 1) physical planning and urban design including master planning and site planning in both rural and urban locations, mixed-use developments, educational facilities and campus planning, natural and cultural resource planning, community engagement, and sustainability; 2) environmental planning and entitlements including Hawai‘i State and NEPA environmental assessment/impact statements, and State and County permits and land use entitlements; 3) landscape architecture including hardscape and landscape design, consulting on the use of Native Hawaiian plants, cultural landscapes, and sustainable landscape design and LEED Certification; 4) graphic design including project branding, web design, interpretive signage, educational material, and infographics; and 5) market, fiscal and economic analyses, providing critical insights to the market context for, as well as the costs and benefits of any given project in terms of local expenditures, employment and earnings for residents, and the impacts to State and county government revenues and expenditures. Our in-house technical capabilities include GIS analysis, computer aided design, 3-D modeling, LEED certification, web and computer-based community engagement tools, meeting facilitation, Hawaiian language consultation and document preparation, and web design.
