We undertake internationally acclaimed research and teaching to improve the primary care that GP practices deliver. Our research rethinks the way that healthcare is delivered to people, helping them to manage their own health and reduce the numbers that need to be admitted to hospital. This improves patient's independence and well-being, as well as dramatically reducing the cost to the NHS. Through our teaching and engagement activities, we aim to develop students to influence and improve health care practice through our programme in evidence-based health care, our varied DPhil and Academic Clinical Fellowship programmes, and our short-courses in evidence-based health care and qualitative research methods.
