Established in 1987 as a non-profit organization, NorthWest Student Exchange offers a variety of international student exchange programs for both international and American high school students: academic-year, semester, reciprocal, and summer student exchange programs. The countries we work with include Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Japan, China, Thailand, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and all of Scandinavia. Dedicated to personal attention for every exchange student, NWSE promotes cultural exchange, foreign language study and international education by creating affordable student exchange programs for high school students from around the world. These unique opportunities for personal development, new perspectives and insights, and foreign language competency help prepare exchange students for success in the global marketplace and improve international understanding. NWSE exchange students raise their global awareness by building long-lasting international friendships and memories. Our exchange students enjoy living with their host families, attending high school, and receiving supervision from local NWSE Academic Coordinators. Exchange students also participate in community or NWSE-sponsored cultural and social events. NWSE provides exchange student and host family orientations, and coordinates medical and accident insurance, travel, and visas for all program participants. NorthWest Student Exchange is a U.S. Department of State-designated student exchange program and is listed with the Council on Standards for International Exchange and Travel (CSIET).
