What Is Neurological Foundation of New Zealand?
Disclaimer\n\nThe Foundation's remit is to raise funds to support neurological research, and unfortunately we are not able to provide medical advice and recommendations, nor support and care. We suggest you seek advice from a medical professional familiar with your medical history.\n\n* * *\n\nFounded in 1971, the Neurological Foundation raises money to fund world‐class brain research, in the search for treatments and cures for the 1,100+ neurological disorders which affect 1 in 3 New Zealanders. \n\nThe Foundation shares a noble vision with the researchers we fund: to progress research so that significant advances can be made in the prevention and cure of neurological disorders. One day this will greatly reduce the level of suffering and premature death from diseases of the brain and nervous system. Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and motor neurone diseases, stroke, multiple sclerosis, migraine, epilepsy and traumatic brain injury are just a few of the wide spectrum of disorders that are the focus of the research we fund.\n\nThe Foundation also supports the education of neuroscientists and neurologists with scholarships and fellowships to enable them to build their careers and continue research.\n\nThe Foundation is funded by individual New Zealanders from donations and bequests. No financial assistance is received from the government.
