What Is NetCarrier?
Founded in 1996 by Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering Chris Peltier, NetCarrier was formed with the mission to bring affordable residential Internet access to areas in suburban Philadelphia that were not served by national providers. In 1999, entrepreneur Brook Lenfest recognized that NetCarrier had the right mix of talented personnel and technical expertise to succeed, so he invested in the company and began expanding its service area and offerings. In 2000, he invested $28 million to fund the necessary equipment and human capital required for such an undertaking. By 2001, through the acquisition of Eclipse Internet Access, NetCarrier was offering data and web services in southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and New York
