What Is NEASA?

Established in 1996, the National Employers’ Association of South Africa is focussed on providing employers and micro businesses with affordable and quality legal representation in labour disputes. NEASA occupies a substantial presence in all sectors and industries in South Africa. NEASA currently have seats on the following bargaining councils: Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC), Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) and the National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistics Industry (NBCRFLI). The National Employer’s Association of South Africa (NEASA) is guided by a passion to, in a hostile and extremely competitive business environment, proactively empower and promote the interests of employers, in respect of all the essential elements required for a productive and prosperous workplace and economic environment. By providing employers with expert legal representation at fixed rates we aim to help our members increase profitability and efficiency and reduce the risk of growing their workforce. At the same time we strive to help our employers create a secure working environment in which their employees can grow and prosper. To become the most influential player in the South African collective bargaining environment; To change labour market regulations that are stifling job creation and SMME growth; and To provide top quality labour law, legal representation and industrial relations services at an affordable price, reducing employers’ risk to employ. We believe we can create an environment in which employers and employees can feel secure, grow and prosper. NEASA was the first employers’ association to register under the Labour Relations Act of 1995 which allowed for the registration of employers’ associations not limited to specific industries. The first meeting of NEASA took place on 3 April 1996, when the steering committee, under the leadership of the current Chief Executive, met in Johannesburg. T: 012 332 5350
