What Is Metro Trains Australia?

Metro Trains Australia (MTA) is a consortium of rail and construction businesses - all with unrivalled credentials - harnessing the strength and experience of MTR Corporation, John Holland Group and UGL Rail. MTA is committed to delivering a superior travel experience by rail. With a passionate vision of transforming transport, the company is on a mission to operate modern rail networks with continuous improvement in safety, customer service as well as punctuality and reliability. Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) is our high performing subsidiary and the operator of the city's metropolitan rail system. MTM operates and maintains a comprehensive network spanning 15 lines, 218 stations and over 800km of track. With a workforce of over 5,000 employees, MTM works with the State Government, Transport for Victoria and Public Transport Victoria to plan and deliver major infrastructure works that increase the capacity of the metropolitan rail network. MTM is making a critical contribution to multiple major works programs that are changing the shape of the city's rail network, with a growing project delivery capability and a close working relationship with important agencies such as LXRA and MMRA. Metro Trains Sydney (MTS) is an entity powered by common shareholders in MTR Corporation, John Holland Group and UGL Rail. MTS is the operator of Sydney Metro Northwest, a new line that will deliver eight new railway stations and 4000 commuter car parking spaces to an important high growth corridor in Sydney. Major construction is underway at the 16 construction sites along the project alignment. When completed trains will run every four minutes in the peak on this line, which will be the first fully-automated metro rail system in Australia. Meanwhile MTA is continues to shape and invest in communities through innovative solutions for an improved customer experience; through a digital future; through new opportunities in education, training and job creation. So whether we're lending guidance to Metro Trains Melbourne - or delivering a new travel experience via the North West Rapid Transit system in Sydney - we remain committed to advancing the scope and performance of transport in Australia.
