What Is Many Mansions?
Many Mansions is a nonprofit affordable housing and service provider that has been providing hope and homes to people in need since 1979 and is a leading provider of affordable housing in Ventura County. We offer hope to those in need by providing fourteen communities that give residents a home and hope for the future. Our mission is to “develop and maintain well-managed affordable housing with on-site supportive and life-enriching services for low- income individuals and families of Ventura County, with a special emphasis on residents who are very-low income, formerly homeless, and disabledâ€. Our affordable housing and services serve a wide range of people in need. We have now expanded to own and operate fourteen affordable housing rental complexes with 500 units of housing serving over a 1000 residents with over 300 of those being children. All housing is restricted to households who are low-income, many who are extremely low income, formerly homeless, and disabled. Many Mansions seeks to provide more than housing to its low-income residents: it seeks to provide ‘life-enriching services’ so that its residents may ‘break the cycle’ of poverty. This begins with education. Many Mansions has five core children’s programs for children 5-18 years that stress education and self-sufficiency: Homework Tutoring Club (HTC), Friday Activities Club (FAC), Camp Many Mansions, the Many Mansions Career Preparation Program (MMCPP), and the School Liaisons/School Supply program. All programs are on-site, run by Many Mansions’ staff, and free of charge.
