MEFA – the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority – helps families plan, save, and pay for college and reach financial goals through community education programs, college savings plans, and low-cost college financing options. We are a not-for-profit self-financing state authority and were created in 1982 by the state legislature at the request of Massachusetts colleges and universities.
