London City Airport (LCY) is London's most central airport, offering passengers safe, careful and speedy journeys to and from the capital.\n\nLCY is just a short hop from Canary Wharf, while the City of London can be reached in as little as 20 minutes on the DLR directly from the airport’s own station. Our aim is to become the UK’s most sustainable airport and we have set a goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050 without using off-setting. In 2019 we reached a significant milestone, being rated as Carbon Neutral for the operations we control by the respected Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.\n\nWe are also working with industry partners like airlines and manufacturers to create an eco-system of collaboration that accelerates progress.\n\nSERVING EAST LONDON\nLondon City Airport is a major part of the local economy and is one of the largest private employers in Newham. Recognised by the Mayor of London’s Good Work Standard, the airport pays employees at least the London Living Wage and recruits locally. \n\nAs a long-term contributor to the community, we run a number of programmes to raise aspirations, inspire students and prepare local people for work. In 2019, over 1.5 million people from East London flew to and from London City Airport while our Community Fund donated over £75,000 to 30 local good causes and will do the same in 2020.
