In 1974, Lincoln received a boon when the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) allowed new investment vehicles within 403(b) plans. Lincoln welcomed this new legislation, and responded by developing services and products to help 403(b) plan participants take advantage of the new investment opportunity. Today, our leadership in the 403(b) and related markets enables us to successfully serve organizations in the for-profit sector as well, and includes 401(k) and other for-profit retirement plans.
