What Is LifeFlight Australia?

LifeFlight is one of Australia's largest air-medical retrieval operations, the service has flown 46,000 critical rescue missions over the past 36 years. The not-for-profit organisation is home to the iconic RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopters, servicing southern, central and north west Queensland. The essential service operates 24/7 from bases across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Toowoomba and Mount Isa. LifeFlight also operates a fixed-wing Air Ambulance retrieval service allowing the organisation to help patients in need of urgent medical care right throughout Australia and across the Asia Pacific region. The organisation is also home to a globally-recognised training academy that provides thousands of aviation and medical professionals with world-class training annually. LifeFlight was selected by Queensland's Oil and Gas Industry as its only air medical provider overseeing the safety of its workers. As part of this partnership, LifeFlight operates air-medical evacuation retrieval services in the Surat Basin and Gladstone regions. More than 110 doctors are employed under LifeFlight's Retrieval Medicine division. Through partnership with the Queensland Government, LifeFlight doctors operate on board all air-medical retrieval services within Queensland to provide critical care to patients right across the state. Overall, LifeFlight employs more than 400 staff members throughout Queensland to provide swift, state-of-the-art medical care to those in need... Saving Lives...Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime.
