What Is Latinos In Action?

Latinos In Action's mission is to empower Latino youth to lead and strengthen their communities through college and career readiness. Latinos In Action (LIA) currently serves over 100 schools throughout Utah, Idaho, Washington, Arizona, Florida, and Texas. One hundred of these schools are located in 25 of Utah’s school districts; including high-need districts like Granite, Salt Lake, Canyons (Midvale), Davis, and Alpine. LIA currently serves over 3100 students annually through LIA classrooms. These Middle, Junior High, and High School students are paired with elementary school students as mentors and tutors; bringing the total students LIA reaches to more than 5000 annually and growing. LIA students are civically engaged young men and women who aspire to better their lives through education, leadership, professionalism, and service. Through their service, they are role models and leaders in their communities. They are recognized scholars, mentors, and trail blazers setting the example for future generations of Latinos.
