Diversity & Inclusion is NOT a passing trend. It has arrived and it is here to stay! Born in Amsterdam, Lalaland is helping fashion brands appeal to customers with virtual models that represent the incredible diversity of humankind. Leveraging neural networks to generates artificial full-body fashion models, Lalaland has begun disrupting apparel webshops by setting a new eCommerce standard. Today, brands use models to increase conversion rates and decrease returns. Currently, brands have to do 2-8 physical photoshoots each year to publish a new collection. Photoshoots are expensive because they require human models, photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, venues, etc. That said, the biggest cost is 1) missed customer acquisition opportunities (because customers cannot see clothes on someone who looks like them) and 2) returns (Most returns are driven by the poor look and fit; full-body modeling (in contrast to synthetic faces) uniquely solves this problem. Brands use Lalaland to instantly upload their collections, select models from a diverse population of generated individuals, and show their collections in different age, size, and ethnic-inclusive models across several angles. In turn, brands that utilize Lalaland see a 15% increase of revenue and at least 10% reduction in returns rates. Diminishing fashion returns not only save brands money but lowers the amount of clothing that ends up in a landfill or incinerator contributing to the fight of sustainable fashion.
