LSU Health Shreveport encompasses the School of Medicine, School of Allied Health Professions, School of Graduate Studies, the Office of Research, and Graduate Medical Education. At LSUHS, we educate and train the next generation of health care professionals and scientists who will continue our proud legacy of innovative and lifesaving healthcare and cutting-edge medical research. In implementing its mission, LSU Health Shreveport is committed to: - Educating physicians, basic scientists, residents, fellows and allied health professionals based on state-of-the-art curricula, methods, and facilities, preparing students for careers in health care service, teaching or research. - Providing state-of-the-art clinical care, including a range of tertiary special services, to an enlarging and diverse regional base of patients. - Achieving distinction and international recognition for basic science and clinical research programs that contribute to the body of knowledge and practice in science and medicine. - Supporting the region and the State in economic growth and prosperity by utilizing research and knowledge to engage in productive partnerships with the private sector. - Fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion that promotes mutual respect for all. LSUHS faculty physicians, residents and fellows provide patient care at our primary teaching hospitals located in Shreveport, Louisiana and Monroe, Louisiana, which are managed by the Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. Additional teaching sites include the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shriner's Hospital for Children, Willis-Knighton Medical Center, CHRISTUS Health and Rapides Medical Center.
