What Is Kids On The Move?

Kids On The Move supports the development of children under age three with special needs and offers assistance to families in the community. \n\nOur Early Intervention program offers services to children under age three who have developmental delays or disabilities. Our team provides information and training for parents to engage their children with healthy, beneficial activities in the home, in the community and at our center.\n\nOur Early Head Start program serves low-income families and expectant mothers. We promote healthy family functioning and literacy, and nurturing parent-child interaction. By creating a positive model, we help families track their children's development and gain self-sufficiency. \n\nThe KOTM Autism Center was launched in 2010, specifically designed for children (aged 2 years and above) living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or similar developmental delays. The program's central objective is empowering children and their families with the resources and materials they need to successfully navigate the world, encourage positive behavioral change, attend school, and materially alter the trajectory of the child's life.\n\nOur Respite Care program (formerly known as Friday's Kids) serves over 60 children and 45 families. As parents of Special Needs children, these caregivers are strained emotionally, physically, and financially. Our program participants receive an average of two evenings of respite each month, giving them those crucial breaks from the difficulties of their situations. \n\nOur core mission is to support the positive development of young children through empowering parents, and immersing them as partners in improving their own lives and the lives of their children.
