Kane’s was established by Maurice A. Rothman in the spring of 1948 and is one of the oldest and most respected home furnishing businesses in Florida. The first store opened its doors in downtown St. Petersburg that very summer and soon became the go-to furniture store for locals and snowbirds alike. With a focus on providing great craftsmanship, style and value, Mr. Rothman's success quickly gained momentum, and soon the young entrepreneur expanded throughout the region. Today Kane’s owns 18 stores comprising more than one million square feet of furniture retail space, which span over 300 miles along the Gulf of Mexico and eight major Central Florida markets, including Tampa, Brandon, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, New Port Richey, Sarasota, Port Charlotte, Ocala, Melbourne, Ft. Myers, Lakeland, Ocoee, Casselberry, Orlando and Naples.
