What Is James L. Maher Center?

The James L. Maher Center, Newport, RI, is devoted to providing a broad range of services that advance independence and create opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities, their families and the community at large. Our programs and services are designed to provide the individual with developmental disabilities the personalized support they need, including vocational, educational and therapeutic services as required, and to provide employment opportunities so that adults with developmental disabilities can engage as fully as possible in life experiences and live their lives with dignity and respect.
