What Is Island Energy Services?
Island Energy Services, LLC is a fuels marketing business providing premier petroleum products for the State of Hawai‘i. The company reliably serves retail, industrial, aviation, and utilities customers throughout the state through a network of key storage and distribution assets including fuels terminals and pipelines. Island Energy operates a refinery in Kapolei, Hawai‘i, located on the island of O‘ahu. The Kapolei Refinery is one of two refineries located in the state of Hawai‘i. The Refinery processes mainly sweet crudes and produces a variety of petroleum products such as fuel oil for power generation, motor gasoline, jet fuel, aviation fuel, propane, and diesel fuel. With two 23-mile pipelines on the island of O‘ahu, Island Energy transports motor gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, and naphtha directly to its Marine Terminal, and jet fuel to the Hawaii Fueling Facilities Corporation airline consortium. The company also owns and utilizes pipelines supporting the terminals at Port Allen (Kaua‘i), Kahului (Maui), and Hilo (Hawai‘i Island). Island Energy also has a Honolulu Marine Terminal, located at the Honolulu Harbor on the Island of O'ahu with connectivity to Island Energy's nearby Honolulu Truck Terminal in Iwilei. Its operations include a mooring facility offshore of the island of O‘ahu that is connected to the Kapolei Refinery's storage tanks by two subsea lines. Due to the offshore location, the mooring facility is capable of berthing crude oil ships and is shielded from severe weather and stronger ocean currents.
