Innova is Latin for “renew.” Our mission is to build, preserve and redevelop housing that is affordable for low and moderate income families. Our building science professionals advance design and construction practices that promote energy efficiency, durability, and maintainability throughout a home’s life-cycle, with an eye always focused on human safety and comfort. Innova’s community development planners devise redevelopment strategies that preserve and stabilize neighborhoods. Innova has three focus areas: Affordable Housing Development Services: Innova offers construction project management, general contracting and building retrofit services for the affordable housing industry. Innova brings its expert building science knowledge to bear on all phases of development: resource efficiency and maintainability during design, conscientious project controls during construction, and methodical forensic approaches when developing long term maintenance remedies and energy retrofit strategies. Neighborhood Stabilization and Housing Preservation: Through our development arm, Innova Redevelopment, LLC, Innova is working to reclaim and improve existing affordable housing in transitional communities. Policy Research Consulting: Innova performs real world, project-based research to effect changes in local policy on affordable housing preservation and development.
