What Is Indiana Biosciences Research Institute?

The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) is dedicated to discovery with purpose—finding solutions to big problems—starting with solutions for patients suffering from cardio-metabolic diseases that impact one-third of the global population. We are always looking for talented people to join our team or to collaborate with our scientists in the areas of regenerative medicine, single cell bioanalytics, and applied data science. Together we are building the leading applied research institute in the discovery and development of innovative solutions to improve health. Over time the IBRI will grow to 150 to 200 scientists organized into research teams around 8-12 Research Fellows who are principal investigators. These teams will partner with industry and academia on research projects and include experts from a spectrum of competencies, including bioengineering, bioinformatics, nanotechnology and agriculture. Our goals are to: Speed discovery by removing traditional barriers to research in favor of a creative, visionary environment that encourages collaboration across industries and scientific disciplines; Foster innovation by enabling researchers to participate and contribute toward the translation of their ideas treatments, therapies and products; Support collaboration by leveraging and sharing assets and resources to more effectively overcome the challenges of frontier science; Leverage a flexible business model based on multiple sources of public, private and philanthropic funding in order to combine resources toward a shared mission; and, Attract world-class talent and provide them with the support to pursue breakthrough science.
