At ImpactHK we transform the lives of the homeless because we believe in kindness, care and opportunity for all. We have observed the power of kindness in tackling the pressing problem of homelessness in Hong Kong. Friendship is our most important focus; everyone needs a friend they can trust. We've seen exactly how this trust can enable individuals who were on the streets - facing life and death situations daily - to transition to healthy and happy lives. We are a young charity and in just two years we have housed and employed almost 100 people. But we know that providing homes and jobs is simply not enough. We have demonstrated time and time again that a holistic approach is needed; our programme includes counselling (both in groups and one-on-one), mentorship and goal-setting, nutrition, sports, English lessons and art therapy. By attending these classes and coming to our Centres everyday, we are able to get to know each individual on a one-to-one basis and help make a truly tailor-made plan that is based on friendship.
