What Is ITHAKI?

Transvideo, part of ITHAKI Holding Group, has been creating high-end solutions for the motion picture and broadcast industries since 1985. It designed the first flat panel monitor in 1990 and since then has developed state of the art technologies for monitoring and recording video and sound, including HD and FHD OLED and LCD flat-panel monitors, video-assist accessories, format converters, camera accessories for Film and Digital Cinematography, S3D stereography, and HDTV. In addition, Transvideo wireless SD and HD video transmission system solutions for high-end productions are widely used by directors, DOPs and Steadicam operators globally. The recent introduction of a unique solution with a wireless receiver built-in to a 5” OLED monitor-recorder, the StarliteRF, demonstrates its excellence in the design and manufacture of revolutionary technology. Also active in avionics, Transvideo has designed several products used in Airbus aircraft such as the Super Air Carrier A380 and A350, also in the single aisle A32X family. In 2009, the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences (AMPAS™) honoured TRANSVIDEO with a Scientific and Engineering Award for its video-assist monitors. In September 2010, TRANSVIDEO received the esteemed Cinec Award. In June 2013, TRANSVIDEO's holding company Ithaki acquired AATON, the French manufacturer of cinematic equipment. Since that time, AATON-Digital has developed the CantarX3, the most advanced on-location sound recorder which subsequently received a Cinec Award in 2014 and the IABM Design and Innovation Award in 2015. Today, ITHAKI Holding companies are combining experience and expertise to develop new solutions compatible with latest industry standards in the cinema and broadcast industries. With a global network of resellers and service and support centres, Transvideo is a key player in the development of HD and 4K technologies in the Digital era at international level.
