Hy-Tek's management team has several recycling programs in place, and Hy-Tek pays for recycling programs for their wooden pallets, papers, and all fluids used (such as oil) in Service Department operations. Employees do their part administering these programs as well as donating pop can tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. Hy-Tek has formal programs to convert lift trucks to clean Natural Gas, and participates with the City of Columbus in Earth Day and Recycle Fest. Hy-Tek corporate sponsorships and other charity involvements over the past two years include: The American Lung Association, the Archie Griffin Scholarship Fund, Charity Newsies, Children's Hospital, The Columbus Panthers, Columbus State Community College, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, D.A.R.E., Directions For Youth, Easter Seals, The Hannah Neil Center, Hospice of Columbus, The Humane Society, The James Cancer Center, Kids 'N Kamp, The Leukemia Society, Madison Christian High School, The Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Ohio State University Buckeye Club, Operation Feed, Prevent Blindness Ohio, The Red Cross, The Ronald McDonald House, The Rushville Lions Club, Schottenstein Children's Charities, Special Olympics, Vietnam Vets Association, The Wexner Center Foundation, Thomas Worthington Youth Boosters, and YMCA of Central Ohio. Hy-Tek's Private/Public partnerships include education initiatives such as our pilot program in Eastland Vocational School to develop forklift technicians. Hy-Tek supplies the school with forklifts, provides guest lecturers and trainers, and helped develop the curriculum for this program. A new pilot program is being planned with the Engineering Department at Youngstown State University, to help develop Systems engineers for our industry, and help place students for internships. Hy-Tek has worked for years with Hamilton Township local schools providing an internship program in accounting. Cooperative Business Education (CBA) students go to school for half-days, and work in Hy-Tek's Accounting Department for the other half of the day.
