Hilltop National Bank was founded in Casper in 1964. The original location was in the Hilltop Shopping Center on East 2nd street. The founding investors were local businessmen who were convinced that our area would support a new, service-oriented community bank. The assets of the bank grew enough that capitalization regulations required additional funds to be infused into the bank on more than one occasion. Tiring of capital calls induced by successful growth, the businessmen considered a purchase offer by another local businessman, Dave True, in 1977. Hilltop remains a company of the True family today, and Mr. True was selected as a finalist (posthumously) as Wyoming's Citizen of the Century by the American Heritage Center of the University of Wyoming Hilltop is Casper, Wyoming's local bank.
