What Is Harvest Natural Resources?
Harvest Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE–HNR) is an independent energy corporation that has been engaged in the development and production of oil and gas properties since 1989. Our producing operations are conducted principally through our 80 percent owned Venezuelan subsidiary, Harvest-Vinccler, C.A., which operates the South Monagas Unit in Venezuela. The Board of Directors and management team has established three elements of focus for 2005: 1. Maximize the value of our asset base a. Continuing to improve the value of our produced barrel by lowering costs b. Maintaining financial flexibility with increasing cash flow and a strong balance sheet 2. Transformational growth a. Increase production 50 percent to 75 percent compared with 2004 b. Acquire rights to drill and produce oil and gas from undeveloped and underdeveloped nonproducing properties in Eastern Venezuela which are geographically close to our existing operations and which are geologically similar to our producing fields c. Acquire the rights to oil and gas production located generally in the Eastern Siberia, Yamal, Nenets, Komi and Orenburg regions 3. Retain a stong and flexible balance sheet enabling the acquisition and development of "transformational growth" projects.
